The American University in Cairo (AUC) has wrapped up the third edition of the Tahrir Cultural Festival, in a milestone that underscores the festival’s growing stature as one of Cairo’s most prominent cultural platforms. Over three days, the event drew thousands of visitors with a diverse agenda focused on Cairo’s future through the lens of culture, technology, and public dialogue.

Commenting on the event, Dr. Ahmad Dallal, President of AUC, said:
“This year’s festival theme invites us to reflect together on the kind of development we envision for Cairo, and how we can responsibly shape our future by building on our history while contributing to innovation and new ways of thinking.”
Open to the public and hosted in the heart of Downtown Cairo, the festival highlighted the university’s role as an accessible cultural hub, bringing together different segments of society through a multidisciplinary program spanning art exhibitions, performances, panel sessions, and interactive experiences.
Carrying the theme “Future C-AI-RO,” this year’s edition placed artificial intelligence and creativity at the forefront, exploring their implications for media, education, the economy, and the arts. The discussions also stressed the need to maintain a strong human-centered approach amid accelerating digital transformation.
By combining academic, industry, and creative perspectives, the festival offered a platform for in-depth conversations around the opportunities and challenges shaping Cairo’s future. It also spotlighted youth-led initiatives, including the debut of TEDx AUC Tahrir Square.
With its third edition, the Tahrir Cultural Festival has further strengthened its position as one of the key annual fixtures on Cairo’s cultural calendar, reflecting AUC’s commitment to advancing culture, creativity, and community engagement.
