TAWAL reaps benefits of Ericsson Energy Infrastructure Operations in Saudi Arabia
TAWAL and Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) acknowledge the impact of deploying Ericsson’s Energy Infrastructure Operations solution on TAWAL’s network. The solution offers an innovative approach to operate energy infrastructure for mobile operators and tower companies.
Under the terms of the ongoing agreement with TAWAL, Ericsson assumes responsibility for managed services of TAWAL’s tower infrastructure and provides energy management solutions.
Ensuring the highest levels of energy efficiency and availability by utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation and energy management, the solution has contributed to a carbon dioxide emissions reduction of up to 40 percent, a reduction of up to 70 percent in generator run hours, and more than 40 percent reduction in energy consumption for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).
Saeed Alshehri, Chief Operations Officer at TAWAL says: “TAWAL leads multiple initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint, one of which was adopting Ericsson’s Infrastructure Operations solution. The solution was implemented in multiple sites across the Kingdom and yielded impressive results. We will continue working with Ericsson to achieve more reduction and achieve our goal within the Saudi Vision 2030.”
Håkan Cervell, Vice President and Head of Ericsson Saudi Arabia and Egypt says: “The Ericsson Energy Infrastructure Operations solution enables energy reduction and operational efficiencies on the network that result in reduced carbon dioxide emissions across several layers of the network. We are pleased to have implemented such a substantial managed services solution and delivered tangible sustainability outcomes on TAWAL’s network. We are looking forward to more efficiencies, which will certainly meet the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030.”
The operational benefits of Ericsson’s Energy Infrastructure Operations include the ability to remotely monitor the infrastructure, enabling predictive maintenance and automated actions.
