Jeddah – Gulf Tech
The Saudi Sports from All Federation (SFA) recently completed its preparations to host the Jeddah Half-Marathon on Sunday, December 10th, 2022, with the support of the Ministry of Sports and the Quality-of-Life Program.
SFA invites all members of society to take the initiative to register to participate in the race and choose their preferred distances via the following electronic link. In the lead-up to the event, participants can visit the marathon village, which will be open on December 9, 2022, from 9 am to 10 pm, to collect their race numbers and racing tools.
Through this important event, SFA aims to promote an active lifestyle and foster a competitive spirit among participants. Three tracks of 21.1 km, 10 km, and 4 km have been designed with the intent of encouraging maximum participation for all levels of participants – from beginners to experts, and from children to adults.
Notably, the tracks will also cross Jeddah’s Formula 1 circuit. The end of the half-marathon will see 24 winners being awarded with cash prizes, estimated at a value of SAR one million in total.
Meanwhile, SFA will also open a “Marathon Village” to the public one day before the Jeddah Half-Marathon’s official start – this coming Friday. The village will significantly enhance the experience of attendees by allowing them to enjoy a wide range of food, beverage and entertainment events.
The Saudi Sports from All Federation aims to create more high-quality sporting opportunities, where society can challenge themselves and have the chance to practice regular physical activity.
SFA’s preparations to host the race were made in alignment with the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts and its Vision 2030, which encourages Saudis and expatriates to practice regular physical activity and participate in sporting events.
SFA had organized a successful marathon in Riyadh, which is the first full marathon launched in the Kingdom. The marathon included a 42km track and attracted more than 10,000 participants from around the world.
