Saudi Thriller “NAGA” Premieres at Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah
After achieving acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival, NAGA, the suspense thriller helmed and penned by Saudi filmmaker Meshal Aljaser, made its Arab world debut at the Red Sea Film Festival. The red carpet premiere was a full house, drawing an audience of over 1000 attendees, including industry professionals and media. Notable local Saudi talents such as Fatima Albanawi and Summer Shesha attended the premiere.
On the red carpet, the presence of film director Meshal Aljaser and lead actress Adwa Bader, a recent addition to the Rising Stars program at TIFF, was notable, along with Yazeed Almajyul.
The film tells the story of Sarah, played by Adwa Bader, who discreetly sneaks out for a date and becomes stranded amidst Riyadh’s desert dunes. She finds herself escaping the vengeance of a rabid camel after accidentally causing harm to its newborn.
NAGA is set to launch in 190 countries worldwide on December 7, 2023.
