PUBG MOBILE ESPORTS UNVEILS PRO LEAGUE 2022 $150,000 PRIZE POOL, NEW FORMAT AND SCHEDULE

Al Riyadh – Saudi Arabia – March 10 2022 – PUBG MOBILE is pleased to present the changes to the PUBG MOBILE Pro League (PMPL) 2022 which sees the introduction of a brand new format and the addition of two new regions. In order to enhance excitement and create a more stable competitive environment, the PMPL now runs on a 1-year-cycle instead of seasonal relegation. In addition PUBG MOBILE esports will increase regional competition to build a stronger amateur circuit.

The PMPL has yet again expanded to more regions with the addition of PMPL Pakistan and PMPL Africa as PUBG MOBILE looks to offer even more opportunities for players. As previously announced the PMPL has also seen a change in region classification with EMEA and MENA & SA regions now being classed as Europe, South Asia and Middle East & Africa.

The PMPL Arabia has already started on February 14th, with 20 teams competing head to head for the new crown along with a prize pool of $150,000. Among the competitors, Rico Infinity Esports and Nigma Galaxy who went to the PUBG MOBILE Global Championship 2021 representing the Middle East regions can also be seen.

The two teams have dominated the leaderboards of PMPL Arabia 2022 so far with Rico Infinity Esports landing the first place in the overall leaderboard. ID7 from Rico Infinity Team is the first player to reach 100 kills in the league stage and been MVP almost every week or at least in the top 5. The second best performing MVP would be Lord from Nigma Galaxy. NASR Esports and Conquerer Iraq have been going head to head to stay in the top 5 throughout the tournament.

After 3 weeks for the League stage, the best 16 teams will be shown from March 10 to 12 on all esports channels on Youtube, Facebook and Nimotv dedicated to PUBG MOBILE MENA. The tournament is now also fully supported by streamers in the region, among which  اتروATRO from Nimotv has been recognized as the Star Streamer for PUBG MOBILE esports and will be hosting the watch party for PMPL Arabia on this platform.

The start dates forthe upcoming Pro-Tournaments of Spring 2022 in the Middle East & Africa region are:

PMPL Africa Spring: March 22th to April 17th

PMPL Middle East & Africa Championship: May 5th to 8th

High ranking teams from last year’s PMPL received a direct invite to compete in PMPL 2022, and the other teams were selected by a one-time-only PMPL qualifier event. Since the PUBG MOBILE Club Open (PMCO) no longer feeds into the PMPL, a selection of new teams has been determined. Teams invited to the PMPL qualifier include lower-seeded PMPL teams and top semi-pro & amateur teams from last year‘s official PUBG MOBILE supported competitions such as PMNC, PMCO and more.

PUBG MOBILE also recently announced a competitive shift by making its esports ecosystem pyramid bigger and stronger in order to host more tournaments and regions. PMCO has switched to a regional amateur & semi-pro competition and will no longer be a gateway to PMPL. Instead, teams will compete through the PUBG MOBILE National Championship (PMNC) and Regional Cup with a chance to reach PMPL in 2023. Teams will also be able to compete in PUBG MOBILE Esports authorized events throughout the year to rack up points and qualify or receive a direct slot for PMNC or Regional Cup at the end of the year.
