Likee’s Commitment to Ensure a Safe and Collaborative Environment for its Users

Likee’s approach to user safety spans policies, practices, products, and people; below is an outline of some of Likee’s protective measures and policies.

Community Guidelines

Essential to the security and creative expression of the community, the short-video platform holds a comprehensive set of Community Guidelines to follow on Likee.

Through an advanced content monitoring system, Likee eradicates any content, including video, audio, live streams, images, comments, and text that violates those guidelines, as well as accounts involved in severe or repeated violations.

The app also encourages its community members to report any content they believe is in violation of the Community Guidelines and manage their online presence.

Users can do this by going to the user’s profile and clicking the arrow at the top right corner. They will then be presented with the option to block or report the user.

Parental Control Function:

In the mutual interest of parents and caregivers in this mission, Likee possesses the Parental Control Function allowing parents to create content restrictions on the content exposed to their children online.

If turned on, this feature will filter out content on the Likee app that is not age-appropriate for the younger audience. In addition, the feature will automatically turn all content published by the child into private mode, block publishing and viewing of certain content, and terminate in-app communication and messaging.

Parents can enable and disable the Parental Control function with the help of a secure password, as shown below.

Content Filtering:

Furthermore, there is a zero-tolerance policy against cyberbullying or bad behavior that disrupts the well-being of its users. To accomplish this, Likee is backed with enhanced AI technology to detect and handle inappropriate content violating Likee’s Community Guidelines.

The monitoring system filters inappropriate content involving profanity, violence, hate speech, explicit content, among others, and actively blocks these accounts in real-time. Furthermore, in order to accelerate the blockage of inappropriate accounts by users, Likee has a special reporting function within the app, and all the reports will be handled by a team that is readily available 24/7.

To keep the community informed about the steps taken to keep the community safe, Likee plans to improve the AI system to filter out prohibited content in a more efficient way, provide users an upgraded private mode, and simplify the reporting process.
