Taking inspiration from nature’s aquatic palette, the resort’s festive program highlights a series of convivial events and elevated experiences for GCC guests
This December, Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa welcomes GCC holidaymakers with oceanic whispers, a collection of exuberant experiences that embrace the warmth and wonder of the festive season.
Inspired by the shimmering turquoise and aquamarine hues of the Indian Ocean, the themed festivities will begin on December 21 with a sparkling Christmas tree lighting ceremony, followed by Christmas Eve cocktails hosted by the resort’s General Manager, Gaurav Thakur. Santa Claus will arrive with a splash on Christmas morning, heralding a day filled with revelry, from a Christmas parade and themed pool party at Aura Pool Bar to ‘Azure’, a solo art exhibition by Maldivian artist Najiya. GCC guests can also look forward to a sunset festive cruise with Santa himself and a traditional Yuletide buffet at Habitat restaurant.
On December 31, the beach at Hilton Maldives transforms into a wondrous spectacle for the New Year’s Eve gala dinner. A bubbly lounge provides front-row seats to the entertainment buffet at the countdown party, capped by glittering fireworks to welcome the new year.
A Fun-filled Retreat for Junior Explorers
Just in time for the holidays, the resort’s One-Bedroom Family Beach Pool Villas will be available for parents travelling with young children. Each villa is furnished with a king-sized bed and a comfortably sized sofa bed that can accommodate up to two adults and two children below the age of 12. The resort also provides a wide range of baby-friendly amenities upon request.
Junior explorers can spend fun-filled days at the purpose-built Krakengiri Kids’ Club, where Arabic and multilingual team of childcare professionals lead daily creative programs. This includes outdoor games, picnics by the sea, treasure hunts, mini aqua aerobics in the kids’ club pool, sport camps, and themed parties. Little artists can express their creativity with seashell crafts, cupcake decoration, marble painting and sand art sessions.
Children aged 12 and up can visit the rooftop lounge Refuel for colorful milkshake workshops, or retreat to Amingiri Spa for a tailor-made program that features a meditation session, active workout, and massage.
Flavourful Gatherings
To spice up the holidays, each of the resort’s signature restaurants and bars will offer distinctive experiences throughout the festive season. At Aura Pool Bar, merrymakers are invited to attend the lively themed parties dressed in their finest costumes. Other delightful social activities to look forward to are afternoon pool parties, Negroni and canapé sundowners, tiki afternoons and a flair bartending show. Within Aura Cocktail Lab, a team of skilled mixologists will conduct kombucha workshops, cocktail pairing dinners and mixology master classes.
Beach Shack will host evenings of live music by the shore, a seafood market-themed buffet, as well as Fire & Smoke: Chef’s Table under the Stars, a masterful five-course wine pairing menu featuring wood-fired specialties. Habitat will showcase themed buffets with a sumptuous array of diverse flavors and well-loved festive favorites. Origin will present a five-course Burgundy Truffle menu, paired with carefully selected vintages from around the world.
At Eden Champagne and Gin Bar, GCC visitors can discover curated tasting experiences led by the resident sommelier, as well as other house beverages and cocktails. Sip Tea Lounge will also have beautifully curated festive high teas as well as a special art of tea blending experience.
A Wellness Haven
For the second year in a row, the international holistic healer Coco Maruno will return from December 15, 2023, to January 31, 2024, bringing her life-transforming energy healing sessions, including Tibetan sound healing therapy, reiki, and kundalini yoga, to Amingiri Spa.
Spa enthusiasts can also indulge in the latest wellness rituals exclusive to the season, such as Timeless Water Memories, a soothing combination of guasha eye-lifting techniques and a scalp massage. The experience will have a personalized water fragrance that will be used during the treatment, leaving a memorable imprint of the ocean.
Adventures In and Out of the Water
To inspire mindful movements, GCC holidaymakers can participate in specially curated daily activities including early-morning runs, aqua Pilates, water polo, as well as sunrise and sunset yoga sessions. Visitors from the GCC can also compete in friendly sporting matches against the resort team on the futsal field and multi-purpose court, from frisbee, futsal and tennis to beach volleyball and badminton. A dedicated sports animator is available for tennis hitting practices.
Marine thrill seekers can opt for a wide variety of water sports, guided group snorkeling tours, sunset cruises, coral planting or engage in marine talks by the resident marine biologist. For recreational divers, there are alluring dive sites nearby, such as the vibrant Sandbank Reef, bustling with curious batfish and snappers, and the thriving Anemone Reef, home to clownfish, turtles, and rays.
