The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched today in Niamey, the capital of the Republic of Niger, a project aimed at supporting internally displaced persons, refugees, and the most vulnerable host communities for the year 2026. The launch took place under the patronage of H.E. Professor Ramatou Djerma Koyi Sidibekousini, Minister of Population, Social Action, and National Solidarity, and in the presence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Niger, Dr. Zaid bin Mukhallad Al-Harbi, along with representatives of government bodies and local authorities, and delegates from international and national humanitarian organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project comes as part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia\u2019s commitment to the pledges it announced during the Donors\u2019 Conference in support of refugees and displaced people in the Lake Chad Basin and the Sahel countries, held in Jeddah last year. It also reflects the Kingdom\u2019s leading humanitarian role and its continued efforts to assist brotherly and friendly nations and to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable populations in crisis and conflict-affected areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative aims to distribute 23,200 integrated food baskets across the regions of Tillab\u00e9ri, Maradi, Diffa, and the city of Niamey, benefiting 65,800 people, including internally displaced persons, refugees, and low-income families within host communities. The support is expected to strengthen food security and ease living pressures on the most at-risk households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In remarks delivered during the launch ceremony, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Zaid bin Mukhallad Al-Harbi affirmed that the project is an extension of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz\u2014may Allah protect them\u2014to advance humanitarian and relief work, stand by communities affected by crises, and promote the values of human solidarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Ramatou Djerma Koyi Sidibekousini expressed appreciation for the generous support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Niger. She commended KSrelief\u2019s role in implementing humanitarian programs targeting the most vulnerable groups, noting that such initiatives contribute effectively to improving food security and strengthening social stability in areas impacted by crises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
