Reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and long-term climate change action, Dulsco Group<\/a><\/strong> as part of its Mangrove Plantation Drive 2025, brought together a group of 100 including team members, schools and clients to plant 1,000 mangroves at Jubail Mangrove Park, Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aligned with the Year of Community, this initiative supports the UAE\u2019s national target to plant 100 million mangroves by 2030 and strengthens Dulsco Group\u2019s commitment to drive the country\u2019s mission to protect coastal ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and promote environmental stewardship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants collectively devoted 300 volunteering hours to create the equivalent of a small forest, which is expected to sequester approximately 13,600 kg of carbon dioxide annually. To date, Dulsco Group has planted approximately 1,920 mangrove saplings, amounting to approximately 26,112 kg of carbon dioxide annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of the Mangrove Plantation Drive 2025, David Stockton, Group Chief Executive Officer at Dulsco Group, said<\/strong>: \u201cDulsco Group is proud to support and drive key initiatives that fight against climate change and preserve our planet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since signing the UAE National Carbon Sequestration Project pledge in 2022, we\u2019ve grown from strength to strength in not only supporting the government\u2019s mandate around climate change but have also successfully fostered a culture of collective responsibility where our people, partners and the wider community come together to create a big impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In honour of our 90th<\/sup> anniversary, we have taken our commitment even further by planting 1,000 mangrove saplings, a symbol of how our impact continues to grow, not just in hundreds but in thousands, as we contribute to a greener, more sustainable future for all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drive witnessed the active participation of Dulsco Group\u2019s valued clients, including Abu Dhabi Aviation, Ahalia Medical Group, CSP Abu Dhabi Terminal, Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), and Mubarak Bin Mohammed School. Their involvement reflects a shared commitment to advancing the UAE\u2019s sustainability vision and fostering meaningful partnerships that protect and restore natural ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mangrove forests protect the UAE\u2019s coasts from rising sea levels and storm surges and serve as powerful carbon sinks. The UAE is home to 60 million mangroves that form forests spanning 183 square kilometres and capture 43,000 tons of CO2\u00a0annually. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the additional 100 million mangroves planted, the UAE\u2019s mangrove forests will cover 483 square kilometres and sequester nearly 115,000 tons of CO2\u00a0per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jubail Mangrove Park is Abu Dhabi\u2019s first self-contained educational and nature destination, dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of mangrove ecosystems. The park is home to diverse marine and bird species and plays an important role in protecting the coastline, supporting biodiversity, and combating climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
