Kyndryl Launches Agentic Modernization Services-as-Software Powered by Kyndryl Bridge

Kyndryl (NYSE: KD) has unveiled a new offering called Agentic Modernization services-as-software, built on its Agentic AI Framework and scaled through Kyndryl Bridge. The launch reflects a broader shift in the industry toward “services-as-software” — delivering enterprise services through automated, AI-driven digital workflows rather than traditional labor-intensive projects.

The new offering packages Kyndryl’s decades of engineering and mission-critical systems expertise, combined with capabilities from its AI ecosystem partners, into ready-made agentic workflows. These workflows are designed to help enterprises modernize faster, reduce risk, and maintain strong governance and cost control throughout their AI adoption journey.

Ismail Amla, Senior Vice President of Kyndryl Consult, noted that modernization is shifting from being a one-time transformation project to becoming an ongoing operating discipline — one that allows organizations to adapt continuously as technology evolves.

The move comes amid growing pressure on enterprises to show real returns from AI investment. According to a recent Kyndryl survey of 1,100 business and technology leaders, while the vast majority of executives report scaling generative AI across their organizations, only a fraction say they’ve achieved their top desired outcomes — underscoring that outdated technology infrastructure remains a major barrier to AI success.

IDC Research Director Bill Latshaw commented that agentic AI is changing how enterprises approach modernization altogether, moving away from large episodic projects toward continuous, AI-orchestrated execution guided by human expertise — with governance as a critical enabler.

Kyndryl Bridge: The Foundation

Since debuting in 2022, Kyndryl Bridge has become a trusted platform for managing and modernizing mission-critical, regulated environments for over 1,400 customers, generating millions of AI-driven insights monthly and helping cut IT incidents significantly. The platform now also includes agentic memory management, allowing organizations to preserve institutional knowledge as they modernize continuously.

Faster, More Predictable Modernization

By scaling pre-built agentic workflows, Kyndryl says customers can execute modernization programs — across infrastructure, applications, cloud, mainframe, and software development — in significantly compressed timelines and at lower cost, without being locked into a specific technology stack. The workflows span the full modernization lifecycle, from discovery and code analysis to testing and validation.
