TAWAL contributes to the Saudi Arabia’s afforestation campaign “Let’s Make It Green” as part of its sustainability strategy

Riyadh, KSA gulftech – TAWAL, the leading Saudi ICT Infrastructure Company, announced its initiative to plant 3,000 trees in cooperation with the National Center for Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification, Vegetation Development Corporation “Murouj”, and through the national charity platform “Ehsan”. The announcement came in conjunction with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Green Saudi Arabia, launch of the inaugural edition of the annual forum of the “Saudi Green Initiative” in Riyadh, concerned with launching new environmental initiatives for the Kingdom.

TAWAL’s strategy is in line with this ambitious initiative, through which the company aspires to contribute to the realization of the Kingdom’s vision aimed at strengthening and protecting the environmental system.

“This initiative comes as part of the sustainability strategy to achieve the company’s vision aimed at launching initiatives and programs that help mitigate the negative effects of environmental challenges and make a positive impact on society,” Eng. Mohammed Alhakbani, CEO of TAWAL, asserted.

He added, “TAWAL managed to accomplish some of the company’s sustainability strategy goals, avoiding 28,000 metric tons of carbon emissions and connecting 300 tower sites to power grid.”

It is noteworthy that TAWAL is committed to following the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) best practices and it has been awarded an ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems Certificate for implementing a successful Environmental Management System (EMS) that ensures the management of operational processes in a manner that reduces the impact on the environment and achieves environmental sustainability. The company is also keen to make a positive impact on the local community and ensure environmental sustainability by contributing to community development and promoting renewable energies.
