Saudi Electricity Company Trains 50 Scouts from Makkah Youth Scouts Team in Leadership and Communication Skills

As part of its community engagement initiatives, the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), in collaboration with the Al-Mansour Neighborhood Center, affiliated with the Neighborhood Centers Association in Makkah, successfully concluded a specialized training program entitled “Effective Communication for Young Leaders.” The program, implemented for the second consecutive year, aimed to develop leadership and communication skills among 50 scouts from the Makkah Youth Scouts Team.

The closing ceremony, held at Al-Shoqiyah District in Makkah, was attended by notable community and scouting figures. Dr. Fahd Abdulkarim Turkistani, Director of the Environmental Department at the Islamic World Organization for Scouts and Youth and Advisor to the President of the Arab Union for Crisis Management, crowned the top ten participants of the course in recognition of their excellence.

Award Recipients:

1st Place: Cub Scout Iyad Hassan Sheet – received a shield and a financial award.
2nd Place: Rover Scout Sharaf Yahya Al-Raini – received a shield and a financial award.
3rd Place: Scout Salem Noor Al-Hajj – received a shield and a financial award.
The remaining top ten positions were awarded to Sharih Yahya Al-Raini, Mesh’al Noor Al-Zaman Hassan, Mishari Bilal Arshi, Ahmad Bilal Arshi, Ammar Mohammed Ali Bamardah, Ahmad Badr Barnawi, and Sha’bah Yahya Al-Raini.
All other participants received certificates of appreciation and financial rewards.

The ceremony featured the participation of Dr. Mardhi Ghurmallah Al-Zahrani and Mr. Abdulrazzaq Ahmed Sadiq Falatah, owner of the event hall, who both honored the scouts for their achievements.

The program began with a Qur’an recitation by Mazn Noor Al-Zaman Hassan, followed by an introduction on the Scout Salute presented by Salem Noor Al-Hajj. Program Coordinator Eng. Abdulrahman Omar Hawsawi delivered a speech highlighting the importance of empowering youth through leadership and communication training.

Scout leader and journalist Othman Khalifah Madani also delivered a welcoming address, emphasizing the initiative’s role in refining the scouts’ intellectual and leadership skills, preparing them to serve pilgrims and visitors to the Holy Mosque, and strengthening community responsibility through partnerships with both public and private sectors.

A panel discussion titled “What Did We Learn from the Young Leaders Program?” was moderated by Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ali Al-Balushi, featuring scouts Mohammed Mostafa Farhat, Ibrahim Suleiman Abkar, and Abdulilah Abdulhameed Adam. Parents were represented by Dr. Hassan Sheet, who expressed appreciation for the program’s impact on youth development.

Distinguished guests included Dr. Hassan Mohammed Tamim, Editor-in-Chief of Awhal Newspaper; veteran scout leaders Sidi Mubarak Al-Otaibi and Hassan Abdullah Takarouni from the Taif Scout Veterans Office; media producer Adnan Mohammed Hawsawi from Jeddah Radio; and several cultural, media, economic, and sports figures.

As part of the ceremony, Scout Leader Samir Salem Batouq honored the program trainers, while Scout Leader Turki Mohammed bin Yahya awarded the Golden Membership Scarf of the Makkah Youth Scouts Team to Eng. Mohammed Ali Al-Balushi. Additionally, Rover Scout Rayan Salem Hebah presented a symbolic recognition on behalf of Eng. Abdullah Al-Sahli, represented by Eng. Osama Mahfouz Al-Khayour.

Scout Veteran Sidi Mubarak Al-Otaibi presented commemorative gifts and awards to the top ten scouts and several distinguished contributors. Dr. Fahd Abdulkarim Turkistani, Dr. Mardhi Al-Zahrani, and Eng. Abdullah Al-Sahli also honored numerous governmental, private, and volunteer entities for their cooperation.

The ceremony concluded with a special tribute to Mr. Abdulrazzaq Ahmed Sadiq Falatah for his pivotal support in the success of this initiative — now a recurring model of collaboration between the Saudi Electricity Company and the Neighborhood Centers Association in Makkah — where he was presented with a commemorative plaque by the Association.
