Himel Aims to Power Ambitions in Saudi Arabia: Accelerating Electrical Infrastructure Development

Himel, a multinational leader in electrical products, is making significant strides in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) as it expands its presence across the Middle East. With 15 years of international operations, Himel has established itself as a frontrunner in delivering value-engineered solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

Already present in over 55 countries, including Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries—Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and United Arab Emirates; Himel’s entry into KSA represents a pivotal milestone in its global journey. The brand is committed to contributing to the modernization of KSA’s electrical infrastructure, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 development goals.

Recently recognized at the International Business Magazine Awards 2024 as the “Value Engineering Leader in Switchgear Range, Middle East and Africa 2024,” Himel’s commitment to affordability and product quality have been widely acknowledged. This award highlights the brand’s efforts in advancing electrical safety and performance in the MEA region, with a specific focus on KSA. Himel’s approach to value engineering—optimizing functionality while reducing costs—sets it apart in the market.

As part of its growth strategy, Himel launched its ‘Powering Ambitions’ campaign, which aims to bring in to the focus the brand’s commitment to its ecosystem of partners, including panel builders, consultants, OEMs, and contractors—key players in the construction, electrical, and energy sectors. The campaign not only promotes products but also highlights how Himel’s value engineering philosophy delivers efficient, cost-effective solutions that support long-term success for its partners.

Himel’s expansion in KSA is bolstered by its strong distribution network and partnerships with key distributors, positioning the brand to serve a wide range of customers, from electrical retailers to industrial contractors. The brand’s product portfolio is designed to meet the specific demands of KSA’s residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, supporting the country’s accelerated infrastructure growth, particularly in housing, energy, and manufacturing.

With KSA’s ongoing infrastructure transformation, Himel is well-positioned to play a key role in supporting the development of safe and reliable electrical systems. The brand’s focus on sectors like social housing, small and medium businesses (SMBs), and manufacturing industries further strengthens its contribution to KSA’s vision of safer and world-class electrical infrastructure.

WenJie QI, International Business General Manager, reaffirmed Himel’s customer-first approach, stating, “Our focus on low-voltage solutions allows us to effectively meet local demands. We are committed to contributing to the creation of safer, more efficient electrical infrastructure in KSA.”

Himel’s contribution is also aligned with global sustainability trends. Many of its products are manufactured in smart facilities designed to minimize carbon footprints, further reinforcing the brand’s commitment to greener infrastructure solutions.

Looking ahead, Himel’s leadership is focused on expanding its distribution and retail networks in Saudi Arabia to ensure faster order fulfilment and enhanced local support. Koon San ANG, VP of Himel International Sales, noted, “We are evolving our approach to meet market demands, from faster fulfilment to supporting retailers. Himel is making strides in residential projects with our power distribution portfolio.”

Vibha Thusu, Global Marketing and Communication Leader, outlined Himel’s long-term vision for KSA, which is aligned with the country’s goals for economic diversification and infrastructure development. “Our marketing strategy will highlight how our value-engineered products meet KSA’s unique needs.
