The Future of HVAC and Water Heating in Saudi Arabia with Rheem Middle East

Riyadh,: Gulf Tech News

The HVAC market in Saudi Arabia is poised for substantial growth, driven by rapid urbanization, extreme climatic conditions, the Kingdom’s sustainability efforts, robust government initiatives aimed at boosting the sector and massive real estate projects such as New Murabba, Soudah Development, Albalad Development Co., Red Sea Global and AlUla Development Company.

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the global demand for HVAC solutions is projected to grow, with substantial contributions from the Middle East due to extreme weather conditions and increasing urbanization. The market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.6% from 2024 to 2030 and is estimated to reach SAR 19bn by 2030.

With the increasing adoption of smart technologies, a heightened focus on indoor air quality, renewable energy sources, and durability of newer technologies in the scorching heat of the Kingdom, the HVAC market in Saudi Arabia is expected to continue its robust growth.
Rheem Middle East, a subsidiary of Rheem Manufacturing, which is headquartered in Atlanta, US, has a number of brands under its umbrella — RUUD, Richmond and Friedrich and as a global company, will be celebrating a century of expertise, in HVAC and water heating, in 2025.

We are strategically positioned to be a part of this transformation in the Saudi market, and have cemented our position as a major player in Saudi Arabia by consistently delivering high-quality, innovative and energy-efficient, residential, commercial and industrial solutions designed to meet the region’s unique demands.
Rheem also invests heavily in research and development to create products tailored to the markets it operates in.

This includes advanced cooling technologies, energy-efficient water heating systems and uniquely installed solutions to match newer architecture styles, designed to reduce energy consumption and enhance performance, such as Rheem’s Connect Smart Monitoring System, providing homeowners with advanced control over their heating and cooling systems.

Our R&D has also helped introduce highly-sustainable products like our ProTerra Hybrid Electric Water Heater, with four times the efficiency compared to traditional solutions.

Furthermore, Rheem’s sustainable goals align with the changing government regulations promoting energy efficiency as our solutions meet and exceed these regulations, ensuring compliance and promoting sustainable practices.
Aligning with the Saudi Vision 2030, Rheem’s sustainability initiatives are wide and extensive including reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% across global manufacturing operations compared to a 2018 baseline towards which we have made significant strides, achieving substantial energy savings and reducing emissions.

For instance, changes in operational efficiencies have saved about 1.8 million kWh in the U.S. alone in 2021.

Rheem also plans on achieving zero waste to landfill in all global manufacturing operations and in 2022, we conducted waste audits across several countries, achieving an average landfill diversion rate of over 85% and diverting more than 40,000 metric tons of waste from landfills.

Rheem also has plans to support the industry’s backbone, its human resources, through education and training initiatives and has already trained over 350,000 individuals across the globe.

Our latest Innovation Learning Center (ILC) in Riyadh is a state-of-the-art, largest in the Middle East, training facility that aims to further our human resource initiatives aligning with the Saudi Vision 2030 human resource development goals.
