Manga Productions Unveils the Trailer Video for the Saudi Anime Series “Asateer2 Future’s Folktales” Showcasing It Across Five Continents
Manga Productions, a subsidiary of the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation “Misk”, has announced the release of the official trailer for the second season of the popular Saudi anime series “Future’s Folktales” This season is produced in collaboration with Japan’s Toei Animation Studio and will be streamed on “Shahid” and will broadcast on MBC1 channel in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region, coinciding with its airing in Japan on TV Tokyo starting November 1, 2024. It will also be shown in North America, Europe, and Latin America, with the platforms to be announced in the last quarter of this year.
The trailer introduces us to Maha and her brothers Rayan and Sultan as they face daily challenges. In each new challenge, the family finds solutions in the folk stories told by their grandmother Asma, blending traditional tales with futuristic visions.
Notably, 15 Saudi artists and producers from Manga Productions participated in character design and creative direction as well as the productions.
The trailer highlights a variety of drawing styles, marking a breakthrough in the quality of animation in the anime world. The series also showcases a diverse range of traditional environments and costumes from Saudi Arabia, reflecting the rich cultures of the Arabian Peninsula in a way never seen before.

This season continues the remarkable success of the first season, which exceeded 100 million views worldwide.
The second season combines Saudi creativity with Japanese expertise through ongoing collaboration with Toei Animation Studio, enhancing production quality and raising audience expectations.
