In understanding that operating in contested airspace has and continues to increase in complexity, EDGE produces the AL TARIQ range of highly modular, all weather, day/night PGMs to ease mission planning in high-risk environments. Delivering advantageous stand-off ranges and advanced targeting features, the AL TARIQ-S (Standard-range) and AL TARIQ-LR (Long-range) ensures mission success in all conditions.
Due to its sensor fusion, guidance systems, and aerodynamic design, weather and timing is no issue for end-users of AL TARIQ PGMs. Standard guidance utilises GNSS/INS to provide an accuracy of 10 metres circular error probable (CEP).
Sensor fusion is achieved when adding either a semi-active laser (SAL) or imaging infrared (IIR) and automatic target recognition (ATR), both accurate within three metres CEP. In the GNSS/INS with IIR+ATR configuration, the AL TARIQ PGM ensures precision without being affected by weather-related obstacles such as fog, smoke or dust.
In the modern operational environment, degrading tactics or area denial are increasingly commonplace. AL TARIQ PGMs include an advanced GPS anti-jammer, permitting engagement against national security threats in a GPS denied environment.
For increased pilot and aircraft safety in highly contested airspace, the AL TARIQ can be fitted with an aerodynamic wing kit, enhancing the maximum range from 45km to over 120km (AL TARIQ-LR).
This advantageous stand-off range cuts out the consideration for complex flight paths in high-risk areas, reduces the logistics burden, and provides greater flexibility as the system can be used to engage targets across a wider area. As a fire-and-forget solution, the high-value aircraft and pilot are also able to withdraw out of a high-risk area upon releasing the PGM.
As a modular system, the AL TARIQ-S and AL TARIQ-LR can easily interchange their payload, designed to fit onto MK 81, 82 and 83 general-purpose aerial munitions. A penetration warhead can also be fitted for engaging fortified targets.
