The American University in Cairo Launches Its 2026 Annual Research and Creativity Convention with Discussions on the Use of DNA Analytics in Health and Athletic Performance

The American University in Cairo (AUC) will host its annual Research and Creativity Convention from Sunday, March 29, to Wednesday, April 2, 2026, at its New Cairo campus, bringing together a wide range of research and creative activities that highlight the university’s intellectual contributions and address a number of relevant regional and global issues.

The convention will open on Sunday, March 29, with an opening session from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm at Moataz Al Alfi Hall. The session will feature a keynote address titled “DNA Testing for Better Health and Enhanced Sports Performance,” delivered by Dr. Hisham Eissa, CEO of Cell Safe Cord Blood Bank and founder of Apex Laboratories Egypt, a company specializing in advanced diagnostics, stem cell science, and personalized healthcare solutions.

The keynote is expected to explore the role of DNA analytics, hormone analysis, and advanced diagnostic technologies in improving approaches to physical performance, nutrition, recovery, and long-term health, while linking modern clinical applications with practical everyday use.

The convention will also feature a broad program of research and creative activities for both undergraduate and graduate students across various disciplines, offering them the opportunity to present their research and projects in the fields of science, humanities and social sciences, economics, and the arts. The program will also include research competitions for faculty members and students in several areas.

In addition, the event will include a concert by Egyptian singer Nesma Mahgoub on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 4:00 pm in Bassily Hall.
