MASTERS HISTORIC RACING CLOSES 2025 SEASON WITH TWO BACK-TO-BACK BATTLES AT YAS MARINA CIRCUIT
Masters Historic Racing wrapped up its first-ever appearance at Yas Marina Circuit as part of the 2025 Formula 1® Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix week, delivering two action-packed races that showcased the depth and competitiveness of the Masters Racing Legends field.
Sunday Standout Performances
Sunday’s Race 2 produced a standout drive from Jamie Constable (OC Racing), who stormed from the back of the grid to claim a remarkable victory after starting alongside several front-runners following Race 1. Joining him on the podium were Mike Cantillon (Front Row Racing) in second and Stuart Hall (OC Racing) in third, both mounting strong recoveries after also starting from the back.
Saturday Podium Results
Saturday’s Race 1 delivered a fresh trio of podium finishers, with Stuart Hall taking the win ahead of Oliver James Webb (G-Cat Racing) and Christophe D’Ansembourg. The tightly fought contest featured an intense wheel-to-wheel battle between John Turner and Frédéric Fatien, adding to the drama of the weekend.
D’Ansembourg noted that his Abu Dhabi result marked his strongest performance of the season.
A Showcase of Golden-Era Engineering
The Masters Racing Legends grid featured cars from the 1966–1985 era, bringing the engineering evolution of Formula 1’s golden years back into the international spotlight. While every manufacturer on the grid carried significant heritage, Williams held a special distinction as the only team represented both in the Masters Racing Legends field and in today’s Formula 1®, underscoring a living legacy that spans generations.
With Abu Dhabi bringing the curtain down on the 2025 campaign, Masters Historic Racing now looks ahead to building on the success of its seven-event season in the year to come.
