Makkah – Othman Khalifa Madani
The family of the late Sheikh Bakr Suleiman Saqti hosted a women’s tribute dinner in Makkah in honor of Rover Scout Engineer Salah Hasan Saqti, leader of the Rover Scout unit at Makkah Youth Scouts, celebrating his recent series of international and local achievements.
Salah Saqti has received multiple prestigious awards, including a bronze medal at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, a gold medal at an innovation exhibition in South Korea, and gold medals at both the Saudi exhibition and the Community and Entrepreneurship Exhibition. The event drew a distinguished gathering of women from the social, media, educational, and business communities.

The evening program featured a variety of traditional Hijazi and popular foods and drinks. Guests were served old-style ice cream, puffed snacks, “dakkah,” and “qamar al-din,” alongside other local specialties. The program also included traditional folk performances, adding a festive atmosphere to the occasion.

The honoree’s mother, educator Ramziyah Ahmad Abu Aljadail, received special recognition. She was presented with a number of commemorative shields, gifts, awards, oriental and western perfumes, as well as various household appliances, mobile phones, and decorative items. His paternal and maternal aunts were also honored, along with more than 50 women—media professionals, educators, and mothers of scouts from the Cubs, Scouts, Advanced, and Rover sections. Among those recognized were Dr. Mishaal Al-Madani, Dr. Kulthum Khamis Al Thani, scout leader and educator Rawdah Ali Hawsawi, scout leader Jawahir Yusuf Al-Hawsawi, executive director of the women’s section at Makkah Youth Scouts, scout leader and educator Widad Ali Hawsawi, and guide Anhar Ali Falatah.

The evening concluded with a celebratory dinner in an atmosphere of joy, gratitude, and pride. Guests, including leading women from social and business circles, joined together to cut a specially prepared cake marking the occasion.

Writer Dr. Ibtihaj Saqti described the celebration honoring the honoree’s mother as “an unforgettable memory for all members of the Saqti and Abu Aljadail families.”

For her part, Ramziyah Ahmad Abu Aljadail said the idea of this tribute is “a badge of honor added to the journey of the Saqti and Abu Aljadail families,” noting that such recognition “sparks enthusiasm, energy, vitality, and determination in the hearts of young men and women, motivating them toward academic excellence, creativity, distinction, and success.”
