Meeting of the Committee for Reviewing and Evaluating the Strategic Plan at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences

A meeting of the Committee for Reviewing and Evaluating the Strategic Plan of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) was held at the College of Education in Rustaq on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, with the attendance of several committee members. The meeting aimed to discuss the feedback received regarding the vision, mission, and values for the university’s upcoming strategic plan.
The meeting began with welcoming remarks by Dr. Anwar Khamis Al-Sheiadi, member of the Committee for Reviewing and Evaluating the Strategic Plan, who praised the committee’s efforts in following up on the implementation of the university’s strategic plan and reviewing its key areas in alignment with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The meeting addressed the review of feedback on the formulation of the university’s vision, mission, and core values prepared by the committee’s team. This feedback was collected through a series of meetings and discussions held with a number of experts and academics from various disciplines and fields, with the aim of benefiting from their expertise to further enhance the plan’s content and ensure its comprehensiveness.
In this regard, Dr. Jinan Mehdi Aal-Eisa, member of the Committee for Reviewing and Evaluating the Strategic Plan, stated that these meetings provided a valuable platform for exchanging expertise and developmental ideas, emphasizing that the feedback received from experts enriched the discussions and refined the plan’s outcomes to make them more accurate and realistic. She added that the committee strives to develop a comprehensive strategic identity that reflects the university’s direction and aligns with the aspirations of the coming stage.
For his part, Dr. Anwar Al-Sheiadi, committee member, noted that the current review process represents a pivotal stage in the development of the university’s strategic plan, as it is based on broad participation from experts and stakeholders. He stressed that this participatory approach contributes to enhancing the quality of strategic planning and ensuring its alignment with the needs of higher education and the labor market in the Sultanate of Oman.
During the meeting, it was agreed to prepare a detailed report summarizing the main recommendations and observations, to be later presented to the Higher Committee for the Strategic Plan for approval as part of the updated version of the plan document.
At the conclusion of the meeting, attendees expressed their appreciation to the university’s leadership for its continuous support of institutional development efforts, affirming the importance of ongoing consultative meetings to enhance performance quality and achieve excellence in education, learning, research, and community service.
