Makkah – Othman Khalifah Madani
Educator Amina Bilal Al-Shanqeeti, widely known as a mutawwifa (pilgrim guide) and aunt of Fatimah Al-Shanqeeti, has passed away at the age of 80. Funeral prayers were held at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, and she was laid to rest in Al-Ma’la Cemetery.
The late Mrs. Al-Shanqeeti was the mother of:
– The late Mohammed Noor Al-Shanqeeti.
– The late Abbas Al-Shanqeeti.
– Abdulrahman Al-Shanqeeti, (in photo) Mayor of Al-Hajlah and Al-Misfalah districts, Advisory Council member of the Makkah Youth Scouts Team at the Neighborhoods Association, former Deputy Director of the Scout Pioneers Association in Makkah, and retired from STC.
– Khadra Al-Shanqeeti, Head of the Islamic Studies Department at the Makkah Education Directorate.
– Abdulaziz Al-Shanqeeti, employee at Saudi Arabian Airlines.
She was also the aunt of Yusuf and Musa Mohammed Al-Shanqeeti, and the aunt of Scout Leader Sidi Mubarak Al-Otaibi from the Scout Pioneers Association in Taif.
She was the grandmother of several family members including:
Turki Mohammed Noor, Dr. Ahmad Abdulaziz Al-Shanqeeti, Dr. Ayman Abdulrahman Al-Shanqeeti, Fawaz Ahmad Al-Shanqeeti, Dr. Abdurabbah Abdulrahman Al-Shanqeeti (media figure at Daw Media Channel in Riyadh), Sheikh Anas Abdulrahman Al-Shanqeeti, Engineer Idris Mohammed Noor, Ibrahim Al-Abbas Al-Shanqeeti, journalist and educator Arij bint Al-Abbas Al-Shanqeeti, educator Manar bint Mohammed Noor (Jeddah Education Directorate), and Engineer Amr Hamzah Al-Shanqeeti.
