Lexus Unveils Its Futuristic Sports Car Concept

Lexus stole the spotlight at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering during Monterey Car Week 2025, where it took the wraps off its new sports car concept. The vehicle masterfully blends a futuristic vision with authentic sports car design.

The car boasts a low, wide, two-door athletic stance with sharp, flowing lines and aerodynamic touches inspired by race cars, presenting a bold vision for Lexus’s next-generation vehicles. Global media outlets described it as being close to a hypercar, thanks to its long front end, wide sides, active wing, and slender headlights.

Press reports from outlets like Road & Track saw it as a reflection of the spirit of the GT3 race cars, while others, including DuPont Registry and AutoIndustriya, praised the bold and striking design.

While the company hasn’t officially revealed the mechanical details, specialized reports speculate that the car may be equipped with a twin-turbo V8 engine with a rear-wheel drive and transaxle layout, which would provide it with an ideal balance on roads and tracks.

Conversely, other reports, such as from Forbes, suggested the car might be based on the “Electrified Sport Concept” shown in 2021, which was promised to have a supercar-like acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in under two seconds and a range of around 700 kilometers thanks to solid-state batteries.

The new “Sport Concept” was heavily compared to the legendary Lexus LFA in specialized press analyses. The LFA, known for its V10 engine and iconic sound, remains a landmark in the company’s history. The new car is seen as a natural extension of that unique experience, but with a more modern vision and futuristic technologies that may include electric power.

Analysts believe that the “Sport Concept” could indeed be the basis for a new race car or a production model that will hit the market between 2026 and 2027.

With this exciting reveal, Lexus continues to confirm its strong presence as a luxury brand that not only innovates in luxury and comfort but also has deep roots in superior sports performance.

Since its global launch in 1989, the company has carved out a prestigious place for itself in the automotive industry by combining high Japanese quality with a challenging spirit. Today, by unveiling this concept car, Lexus is proving that it is serious about writing new chapters for the future of luxury sports cars.
