Hamza Bakhashab Follows in His Father’s Footsteps… First Place in Dakar Rally Next Generation
Hamza Bakhashab secured first place in the Dakar Rally Next Generation program, designed to identify Saudi talents ready to enter the world of rally racing, as part of preparations for next season’s Dakar Rally.
Hamza is following in the footsteps of his father, the veteran rally racer Abdullah Bakhashab, a global rally champion.
Participants underwent rigorous testing under the supervision of Dakar organization experts. These tests included driving skills on select stages of the 6th edition of the Dakar Rally, physical fitness assessments, knowledge evaluations, and navigation programs, all conducted over seven days.
Hamza Bakhashab and his co-driver, Fahad Al-Omar, excelled in all tests, earning them the Excellence Trophy, presented by Prince Khalid bin Sultan, Chairman of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, and Yann Le Moënner, CEO of the Dakar Rally.
Upon receiving the Excellence Certificate, Hamza expressed his joy at this achievement and reaffirmed his ambition to represent his country, Saudi Arabia, in the Dakar Rally. He said:
“I thank God for this result and strive to live up to the responsibility and achieve my ambitions in the world of rally racing.”
