Kaspersky SD-WAN: new solution to protect geo-distributed networks

A new Kaspersky solution is helping companies build reliable networks, maintain geo-distributed businesses, and connect new branches with a zero-touch experience. The Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) manages the entire corporate network from a single console, and converges individual communication channels and network functions of companies.

According to the data provided by P&S Intelligence, SD-WAN market size was $3.514 million in 2022 and it is expected to reach $30,907 million in 2030. Such growth is driven by the increasing number of cloud solutions, the rising demand for internet broadband connections and the growing need for network agility and visibility.

To meet this demand Kaspersky has launched Kaspersky SD-WAN, a solution designed to build a fault-tolerant business infrastructure and secure geo-distributed networks. This solution is equally useful for corporations with branch offices, manufacturing enterprises with distributed locations, and companies with distant home offices or ATMs[1].

Kaspersky SD-WAN is an essential step in building a unified security platform on top of a reliable distributed network. With Kaspersky SD-WAN you can start to build Secure Access Service Edge (SASE)[2] now.

Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) support and Zero-Touch Provisioning

Kaspersky SD-WAN supports different types of Customer Premises Equipment (CPEs) and allows customers to use either their own resources to run virtual appliances or recommended models from the Kaspersky SD-WAN Edge Service Router (KESR) line. This telecommunications device provides the company with a wide range of network functions within a single box.

Moreover, CPE makes connecting to new locations smooth and fast, without additional configurations through Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP), reducing deployment time to minutes.

Kaspersky SD-WAN allows all devices to be managed centrally by automating routine operations like these as firmware upgrades, inventory collection, life cycle management and troubleshooting. It helps in the elimination of human errors while updating or changing configurations and reduce mean time to restore.

Channel optimization and link management

Kaspersky SD-WAN provides access to all company resources with diverse wireless or wired communication channels (MPLS, Ethernet, 4G, еtс.) that can be used at once for data transfer due to built-in load balancing. Dynamic traffic engineering, built-in deep packet inspection (DPI) and real-time quality control enable traffic steering on the most suitable link, reducing operating costs.

The solution also offers link management features such as Forward Error Correction and Packet Duplication that provide efficient application performance even with unstable network connections.

Great visualization of network infrastructure

A unified web interface allows for the management of the entire network: it creates traffic filtering rules and security policies, defines the service level agreements (SLAs) and so on. The graphical builder allows for the visualization of the network infrastructure and integrate new services in drag-and-drop mode.

Fast integration of security services and analytical tools

The Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) manager enables the automatically deployment of traffic control and security tools including firewalls, secure web gateways and intrusion prevention systems from both Kaspersky and other third-party vendors.

“The reliable maintenance of geo-distributed businesses and quick connection of new offices to the company’s network require additional costs and corresponding tools and expertise. To meet this demand, we are offering a comprehensive product that builds a fault-tolerant and efficient corporate network with consistent security policy and rich integration capabilities. Kaspersky SD-WAN allows companies to manage the entire infrastructure of corporate networks across the world without deploying an IT system from scratch in each new office”,says Maxim Kaminsky, Business Development Manager of Secure Access Service Edge at Kaspersky.
