“Share a Square” brings Al Oula and Kiri together for the third consecutive year to offer professional training to Saudi Arabia’s women this Ramadan
Jeddah : Gulf Tech :
Al Oula, a female-led organization that promotes women empowerment and education across Saudi Arabia, has joined hands with Kiri, a part of Bel Group, for a unique Ramadan initiative under the theme ‘Share A Square’. The campaign aims to leverage the power of social media to support empowerment sessions for Saudi women in alignment with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 national agenda through this locally led partnership. Kiri has already contributed 4,000 hours of training to Saudi women through this initiative with Al Oula, and the goal of the campaign is to increase this number of hours with each blue square equal to one hour of professional training.
Labor force participation among female Saudi citizens between the ages of 15 and 24 rose from 48% in Q2 to 50% in Q3 of 2022, according to Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Statistics (GASTAT). Through the ‘Share A Square’ campaign, Kiri aims to activate the larger community to further promote women’s professional success and help them achieve financial independence.
Dania Al-Maeena, Chief Executive Officer of Aloula said: “Al-Oula’s programs focus on education, health, and vocational training to equip women with the necessary skills to become self-sufficient and provide for their families. Through the ‘Share A Square’ campaign, Kiri and our organization aim to promote social responsibility and empower women by providing them with access to education and resources, ultimately contributing to the growth and prosperity of our communities. We believe that by working together, we can create a brighter future for all. This year, we invite the wider community to engage and participate in our goal to increase awareness and push the agenda for women empowerment.”
To celebrate the spirit togetherness during Ramadan, Kiri will launch “blue squares” on its Instagram page. Users can share the squares on their Instagram stories that will be translated to vocational training sessions by Al Oula. These sessions will focus on providing women with skills and knowledge to help them succeed in the workforce. The ‘Share A Square’ initiative hopes to make a positive impact on the community and promote female empowerment this Ramadan.
Garo Matossian – Cluster Chief Executive Officer, Middle East at Bel Group said: “Kiri has launched several initiatives that focus on empowering women in various fields, including education, entrepreneurship, and professional success. We believe that by investing in women, we can create a more prosperous society for all. Kiri’s partnership with Al-Oula over the last three years is a testament to its commitment to promoting women’s empowerment in Saudi Arabia. This Ramadan, by working together on ‘Share A Square’, we hope to create opportunities for women to succeed and contribute to the country’s economic growth.”
Recognizing the wide range of skills and tools required to become a successful entrepreneur, Kiri’s ‘Share A Square’ campaign aims to make a long-lasting impact through its support of Al Oula. By involving the social media community in this collective effort, Kiri hopes to create a sense of unity and improve access to training and resources to aspiring female entrepreneurs in Saudi Arabia.
