Darb Al-Watan Company, one of Hafil’s transportation companies, signs the Northern concession contract for intercity bus transportation services with the Public Transport Authority.

The Northern concession contract for intercity bus transport services was signed between the General Transportation Authority and “Darb Al-Watan” company for transport services wholly owned by Hafil Transport Company. The signing ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Transport, Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, and His Excellency Acting Chairman of the Public Authority for Transport, Dr. Rumaih bin Muhammad Al-Rumaih, and Mr. Mohamed Yousuf Naghi, Chairman and Board of Directors for Hafil Transport Company, and a large number of specialists and those interested in the transport sector.
Hafil Transport’s consortium with Kwoon Chung Bus Holding (KCBH) won the northern concession contract for intercity bus transportation services. It is worth noting that KCBH is a major public transportation company based in Hong Kong, providing intercity and cross-border transportation services between Hong Kong and China. Where KCBH will provide technical consulting services to apply the best management methods and mechanisms of transport between cities.
It is scheduled that “Darb Al-Watan Company” based in Dammam will provide transportation services through a new fleet equipped with the best-integrated smart transport systems and security means, including surveillance cameras and a modern tracking system.
The new fleet will serve 26 lanes and more than 75 cities and governorates, through 7 main stations and 99 stopping points and aims to transport more than 1,800,000 passengers annually, through 5 bus maintenance and equipment centers.
“Darb Al-Watan Company” will also provide the latest sales channels for passenger tickets, through automated vending machines at stations, website and smart phone applications. The company will also create 400 new jobs, targeting nationals to run its operations.
Hafil Transport Company, one of Mohamed Yousuf Naghi’s companies, was established in 1998, and during the past 25 years, its fleet has reached more than 11,000 buses equipped with security systems and automated vehicle tracking system from central operating rooms, served by 14 fixed maintenance centers and more than 200 mobile maintenance workshops throughout the Kingdom, through which 400,000 female and male students in general education are transported daily, and more than 400,000 pilgrims annually. Hafil also provides a frequency transport service for worshipers during the Ramadan season, as well as contract and leasing services for companies and individuals.
