Search for “The Greatest Voice” in the MENA Region Commences on Bigo Live

Dubai-UAE: gulftech– Bigo Live, one of the leading social livestreaming platforms recently launched “The Greatest Voice” – a singing competition that invites Arab talent from across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to participate in a weekly series around certain themes. The winner of every week will join the panel of esteemed judges that consist of some exceptional talent from Bigo Live and the renowned Eman Abd Elaziz – who participated in Arab Idol 3.

“The Greatest Voice” series is held online every Thursday at 7:00pm KSA time through the Bigo Live channel معاً في يوم المرأة (ID: 1894404914). To celebrate the important dates in the MENA region, in these two weeks the contests are centered around the themes of: Mothers and Family to commemorate Mother’s Day, and Traditional Songs to prepare for Ramadan.

The competition is very challenging for the contestants as every viewer’s comment count, which also makes it a joyful experience for the audience. In this highly interactive event, contestants have to sing songs requested by the guests and audience in the final round. Audience members can vote by leaving comments during the live streams and winners are selected accordingly.

“Technology and livestreaming platforms in particular are bridging the gap between the physical and virtual worlds,” said a spokesperson from Bigo Live. “Live competitions are more convenient not just for talent but organizations as well, as they significantly reduce the costs of participating and even hosting events. Our region specific contests have made it more accessible for aspiring individuals to show their talent, improve their skills and become famous. Even after the contests, music lovers can gather in the live room, practice singing and share or ask for suggestions, and co-create a music community on our platform”

For talent – and people – to thrive, there needs to be trust – whether it’s amongst fans, partners or potential sponsors. Although users appreciate the creativity and art behind the musical content, they want more, they want to feel a connection with the talented individual to build a certain rapport that makes them feel engaged.

Through livestreaming, talented individuals can interact with their audience in a more natural and human way – with smiles, laughter and emotion. This demonstrates that they are actual people and not so different from the individual that is tuned in to the livestream. It can help them relate more to each other and over time, build a sort of affinity to the musical artist themselves. This in turn would lead to a number of opportunities and further advocacy, as people are more likely to support the individual they rooted for from the start as they feel more involved and connected with the progression of their artistic journey and musical career.

During Ramadan, Bigo Live will host a series of fascinating events including cooking competition, quiz show, live concert and more.
