ARAB TEAMS SHOW STRONG PERFORMANCE DURING PUBG MOBILE PRO LEAGUE EMEA CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON 1

Al Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – gulftech – Teams from the Middle East have shown a strong performance in the recent PUBG MOBILE Pro League (PMPL) EMEA Championship Season 1, the official regional professional tournament for the world’s most popular mobile game.

GUNZ Esports, the champions of PMPL Arabia, took second place in the tournament with 253 points, winning $28,000 in prize money. Ranking only fourth on the third day of the tournament, GUNZ Esports fought back during the final day of the competition, scoring two ‘Chicken Dinners’ and 34 kill points, which propelled them into second place.

The tournament was won by team NATUS VINCERE, the champions of PMPL CIS, who scored a total of 301 points and 144 kills, taking home total prize money of $40,000. TEAM 1218 ranked third overall, with 247 points.

Sixteen teams from across the EMEA region, including five teams from the Middle East, battled over four days, filled with exciting PUBG MOBILE action, for a share of the $150,000 prize pool.

The MENA region was represented by GUNZ Esports, Rico Infinity Team, Sudor Esports, NASR Esports and FATE Esports, who all qualified through competing in PMPL Arabia S1 which took place in June earlier this year. FATE Esports was the second-best performing team from the region after GUNZ Esports, placing in fifth in this tournament.

Since the start of this year, PUBG MOBILE has created a new ecosystem of Esports for the Middle East and North Africa, launching tournaments for both professional and amateur Esports teams to encourage the development of competitive Esports in the region.

The PUBG MOBILE Pro League (PMPL) Arabia Season 1, and the PUBG MOBILE Club Open (PMCO) Spring Split offered the region’s budding professional teams the opportunity to test their skills against other pro-league teams and win a place in global competitions, while the PUBG MOBILE National Championships (PMNC), which are currently underway, gave talented amateur players the chance to chase their dreams and compete for a national title.

As the official smartphone partner of PUBG MOBILE Esports in the Middle East & Africa regions in 2021, OPPO will play an active part in bringing exceptionally immersive and fluid gaming experience to the region’s gaming enthusiasts.
