Taiwanese Edge AI Solutions Bring Intelligence Closer to Industrial Operations at LEAP

The Taiwan Excellence pavilion at LEAP in Riyadh is highlighting a new generation of Taiwanese industrial AI and edge computing solutions designed to bring intelligence closer to factories, infrastructure, and field operations.

Rather than relying entirely on centralized cloud environments, the technologies on display focus on processing data near its source, helping reduce response times and enabling faster decision-making in applications such as computer vision, automated inspection, and industrial control.

One of the key participants is AAEON, which is showcasing the BOXER-8629AI, an edge AI platform designed for deployment in demanding outdoor and industrial environments.

With an IP67 protection rating, the system is built for applications where durability and reliability are critical, particularly in operating conditions that may expose equipment to environmental challenges.

AAEON is also presenting the UP Xtreme i14, a development platform aimed at engineers and developers working in industrial automation and vision AI.

The platform is designed to support the transition from early-stage software development and prototyping to real-world deployment, helping developers move AI applications from the laboratory into operational environments.

Thermal performance is another focus of AAEON’s participation. The company is addressing the challenge of maintaining stable computing performance during continuous operation in high ambient temperatures, an important factor for embedded systems operating outside controlled environments.

Alongside AAEON, Advantech is showcasing a range of edge AI solutions, including the AIR-055, DS-011, and AOM-DK2721.

The DS-011 is positioned as an ultra-slim embedded computing system with a low power range of approximately 6 to 9 watts, making it suitable for applications that require continuous operation while keeping energy consumption low.

The AIR-055 series, meanwhile, is focused on computer vision and automated quality inspection, particularly in industrial environments where visual data can be analyzed directly on production lines.

Advantech’s broader strategy centers on Physical AI and Edge Intelligence, concepts that aim to integrate artificial intelligence with machines, sensors, and operational equipment.

This approach allows AI systems to interact more directly with physical environments and supports applications in smart manufacturing and smart city operations.

The company is also emphasizing remote device management, enabling organizations to monitor and maintain large fleets of edge AI systems deployed across multiple locations.

Such capabilities are increasingly important as industrial operators expand connected infrastructure and deploy AI-enabled devices across geographically distributed sites.

The solutions presented under the Taiwan Excellence pavilion reflect a broader shift toward decentralized computing, where intelligence is moving closer to the point of operation.

By combining edge processing, energy efficiency, industrial durability, and remote management, Taiwanese technology providers are positioning their solutions for a wide range of industrial and infrastructure applications.

The Taiwan Excellence mark evaluates Taiwanese products across four core criteria: Research and Development, Design, Quality, and Marketing, recognizing products that demonstrate strong innovation and international competitiveness.
