CHERY Saudi Arabia Unveils New Strategic Direction and Latest Technologies at Riyadh Media Briefing
CHERY Saudi held a special media event in Riyadh on August 8, 2026, bringing together prominent journalists and influencers from across the Kingdom’s media and social platforms. The gathering was designed to deepen ties with media partners while introducing the brand’s new strategic direction for the local market. CHERY confirmed that operations in Saudi Arabia will now be run through its local subsidiary, with after-sales services to be handled by a network of local distributors set to be appointed in the coming phase.
Leadership Vision
Mark, Vice President of CHERY Middle East, joined members of the CHERY Saudi team at the event, where he outlined the brand’s global vision and regional strategy going forward. He highlighted CHERY’s ambition to build a “healthy and sustainable society” by “merging technology with aesthetics,” positioning the brand as a fresh urban mobility choice for drivers who value individuality and a standout driving experience.
A Global Manufacturing Powerhouse
CHERY’s regional ambitions are backed by substantial global scale and R&D strength. In 2025, the group posted worldwide sales of 2.8 million vehicles, including 1.34 million exported units, holding its position as China’s top passenger vehicle exporter for the 23rd year running. The brand now serves over 20 million customers in more than 120 countries through roughly 3,500 overseas outlets, supported by a global innovation network of eight R&D centers, over 13,000 R&D specialists, and more than 300 laboratories.
New Models and Technologies on Display
The event featured CHERY’s newest lineup, including the all-new TIGGO 9 and ARRIZO 8. A central highlight was CHERY Super Hybrid (CSH), a plug-in hybrid system built to combine electric driving benefits with the flexibility needed for long trips. Its fifth-generation hybrid engine reaches thermal efficiency of up to 44.5%, and its intelligent drive system automatically switches between pure electric, series hybrid, parallel hybrid, direct engine drive, and energy recovery modes based on road and battery conditions.
For the T9 configuration presented at the event, figures included a CLTC-rated pure-electric range of up to 130 km, a combined range of up to 1,300 km, and fuel consumption below 4.5 liters per 100 km. Advanced battery thermal management and extensive testing support reliable performance across varied temperatures, making CSH suited to both city commuting and long family journeys — with an external power discharge feature also available for camping and outdoor use.
CHERY also introduced its Super Intelligent Valet Parking (SIVP) system, built to tackle common parking frustrations such as finding open spaces, navigating tight bays, and reaching the car in extreme heat or rain. The system combines three millimeter-wave radars, 11 HD cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and one LiDAR unit, fusing real-time environmental data and SD map data through an AI-powered planning algorithm and end-to-end large model.
Aligning with a Fast-Growing Market
As Saudi Arabia’s automotive sector continues its rapid expansion, younger drivers are gravitating toward vehicles that pair distinctive design with advanced technology and seamless connectivity — priorities that now sit at the core of CHERY’s renewed strategy for the Saudi market.
